Don’t miss Oktoberfest in downtown Lake Geneva this October 8th and 9th from 11am-5pm! This 19th annual family fun festival will feature food booths, a farmer’s market, craft booths, music, and discounts at local restaurants and shops. There will also be a great pumpkin giveaway for children 10 and under at 1pm on Saturday! Plus, children can enjoy a moonwalk, hay rides, face painting, caramel apples, cotton candy, popcorn and more!

Corn Field Mazes

One of the greatest things about the fall is the new seasonal activities that arrive….one of the best being corn mazes! So grab a friend or your family and get lost for an afternoon! One of the closest corn mazes to Lake Geneva is at the Richardson Adventure Farm, which is home to the world’s largest corn maze!

The largest corn maze is made up with 5 different mazes which have you traveling through 33 acres of living corn such as the Finger Fortune Trail which is a quick 10 minute maze and the Quiz Maze offering fun quiz questions to guide you through the maze…but if you have the wrong answer, you’ll go the wrong way.

Admission to the farm includes: the World's largest corn maze, 3 wooden bridges in the maze (8 feet above the Maze), finger fortune maze game, giant, 50’ long slide, pedal carts, pedal trikes, feed the goats, corn cabin play area, beautiful wooded picnic area, free community campfires (bring your marshmallows), free wagon ride to the 5 acre maze (weekends), nighttime maze (glow sticks and flashlights available for sale), and free parking. The farm will be open until October 31, 2010.

Apple and Pumpkin Picking

There are so many different orchards and pumpkin patches in the area, the choice of where you want to go seem endless. Below are a few of the best family friendly farms:

Apple Holler offers hayrides, sleigh rides, bonfires, the legend of Johnny Apple seed stories, children’s activities and a build your own caramel apple station. You can also pick your own pears, apples, and pumpkins when they are in season, or you can purchase them already picked. And don’t forget to pick up your apple cider, apple butter, sweet corn, honey jams and jellies, maple syrup, or gift baskets.

Pearce's Farm Stand offers a pumpkin patch (pick in the field), pumpkin patch (already gathered from the field), straw or hay bale maze, child-sized hay bale maze, tractor-pulled hay rides, and pre-picked produce.

Animal Gardens offers a pumpkin patch with pumpkins already gathered from the field, fall festival activities, train rides, tractor-pulled hay rides, wagon rides, a gift shop, a snacks and refreshment stand, pony rides, a petting zoo, and farm animals.
